What’s New in the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado

Taking the Colorado Mid-Size Truck to the Next Level

For 2023, Chevrolet redesigned the Colorado mid-size pickup truck. During the redesign, the automaker upgraded the performance, capability, and styling – offering drivers the opportunity for more customization. Chevrolet engineers upped the styling, while streamlining the platform, as the newest Colorado has one cab and bed configuration. The team at Morgan Chevrolet is excited to introduce the new Colorado to our customers when the truck arrives on our lot in January 2023.

Powering the 2023 Colorado

Chevrolet decided to keep things simple with the 2023 Colorado engine. The powertrain consists of a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine. Rather than changing the engine in various trims, Chevrolet tuned it for daily driving, off-roading, and towing. Chevy equips all trims with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The WT and LT are tuned for daily driving, so the engine produces 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. Those who want more power can choose the 2.7L Turbo Plus for 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque for off-road fun in the Z71 and Trail Boss trims. The third choice is the 2.7L Turbo High-Output with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque to tow 7,700 pounds in the 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 models.

Chevrolet Colorado technology includes selectable drive modes with a knob on the center console. The modes include Normal, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, Terrain, and Baja. These are especially useful in the exciting new ZR2 Desert Boss trim built for off-roading on sand. This trim and package include 17-inch bead-lock-capable wheels, an off-road bumper, a roof-mounted light bar, and an underbody camera.

Technology and Safety Features

The redesigned 2023 Chevrolet Colorado interior features enhanced the exciting new powertrain and trims. The mid-size truck has an 11.3-inch infotainment screen that provides entertainment like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and information about off-road performance, trailering and camera views. Drivers can use the touchscreen to monitor the pitch, roll, and tire pressure while in Terrain mode or g-force and wheel slip in Baja mode. The screen also provides up to ten camera views, including the underbody camera.

Whether driving to work or crawling over rocks, you can rely on the Chevrolet Colorado safety features. All trims have standard Chevy Safety Assist with Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam Automatic High Beam Assist. Optional safety features include Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and HD Surround Vision.
